Heath Robertson received his PhD in Divinity at the University of Aberdeen (Scotland) and his MA in Biblical and Theological Studies at Western Seminary. He completed a Hebrew honors program at Moody Bible Institute (where he also received his undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies) and received an award for Old Testament exegesis at Western Seminary. Heath also serves the church by lecturing regularly in systematic theology at Moody Aviation. He is ACSI certified. Dr. Robertson delights in serving Enlightium Preparatory Academy’s team, students, and their families, as well as watching students grow in the knowledge and understanding of biblical truth. In his free time, he stays active with running, going to the gym, and spending time with family and friends.

Ms. Vagin has been serving at Enlightium Academy since 2009. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Services from Whitworth University and holds her associate’s degrees in Business Management and Business Marketing from SFCC. During her tenure at Enlightium, Ms. Vagin has been involved in the development of Enlightium's counseling and admissions departments, contributing to the expansion of the rapidly growing school. In 2025, she took on a new role as school manager at Enlightium Preparatory Academy, trusting that God would lead the way and provide. She is excited to work with students, parents, and the wonderful Enlightium Preparatory Academy team. "Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Mrs. Shcherbina joined the Enlightium Prep faculty for the 2025–2026 academic year after 16 years of dedicated service at a private Christian school in Spokane, Washington. In the 2025–2026 school year, she teaches high school courses, leads the Student Council, and serves as the Dean of Enrollment. Her deepest aspiration is to inspire students to pursue academic excellence marked by genuine curiosity, intellectual rigor, and steadfast commitment to daily learning. At Enlightium Prep, students flourish within a community of devoted educators who intentionally and collaboratively cultivate the success of every individual learner. Mrs. Shcherbina holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gonzaga University and maintains professional certification through ACSI.

Working at Enlightium Prep has been an incredible blessing for Mrs. Carver, where each day brings the joy of interacting with students who have a genuine desire to follow Jesus Christ. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Eastern Washington University and a Master’s degree in Mathematics from Western Governors University. Serving at Enlightium Prep allows Mrs. Carver to integrate her passion for education with her commitment to fostering a Christ-centered learning environment. She is certified by both Washington State and ACSI.

For Mr. Tanner, it is both a blessing and an honor to teach at Enlightium Prep, where the educational experience goes beyond imparting academic knowledge. Here, teachers strive to cultivate not only the intellectual growth of our students but also their spiritual development, encouraging them to study the Bible, live in the light of Christ’s teachings, and follow His example in their daily lives. Mr. Tanner holds a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Education and a Master’s degree in Education and Administration from West Coast Baptist College. He is ACSI certified.

6th Grade Teacher

Mrs. Khatri grew up in Washington State and joined Enlightium Academy in 2022 after returning from Thailand, where she taught for 10 years at an international school. She taught elementary students in the Sapphire Live program at Enlightium Academy for two years. Mrs. Khatri earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Pensacola Christian College, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Liberty University, and a graduate certificate in TESOL from City University of Seattle. She is state-certified and ACSI-certified.

5th Grade Teacher & Dean of Academics

Teaching is more than a profession to Miss Talmage—it’s a calling, and one that she has been honored to embrace for over 25 years. Since 2021, Miss Talmage has served at a small private school in Spokane, Washington, and then at Enlightium Preparatory Academy in 2025. She is truly blessed to be part of a community where she can serve the Lord. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from The Crown College of the Bible and a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Education: Early Childhood from Liberty University, she brings both experience and passion to her role. Miss Talmage is also ACSI certified, further deepening her commitment to providing a Christ-centered, nurturing environment where students can thrive.

Teaching at Enlightium Preparatory Academy is truly a blessing for Mr. Sylvia, where God’s presence is not just felt but actively welcomed in every aspect of work. The dedication of the staff, combined with a strong partnership with students’ parents, creates an environment deeply rooted in God’s Word—an environment where students are not only encouraged but empowered to thrive. With a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management from Whitworth and a Master’s in Elementary Education from Western Governors University, Mr. Sylvia brings a solid educational foundation to Enlightium Prep. He is also certified by Washington State and ACSI.

3rd Grade Teacher

Ms. Van Norman graduated from Eastern Washington University in December 2011, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Education. She holds an endorsement in Reading, along with minors in English and Special Education. In recent years, she has worked as a substitute teacher in the public school system. Since 2025, she has been teaching at Enlightium Academy in the Sapphire Live program, where she instructs a combined 3rd–4th grade class virtually. Outside of her professional responsibilities, she volunteers at her church in children’s ministry, leads the Awana club, and teaches Vacation Bible School (VBS) for the primary group during the summer.

2nd Grade Teacher

Mrs. Shannon considers it both an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to teach and be a part of Enlightium Preparatory Academy. As a teacher, she is blessed to guide young minds toward Christ while learning and growing alongside them. It is truly an amazing and rewarding experience. Mrs. Shannon holds a Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from New England College. Additionally, she completed a two-year program in Children’s Christian Education while living in Ukraine. Mrs. Shannon is ACSI certified.

Ms. Gluhova was privileged to join Enlightium Preparatory Academy in 2025 after serving at a private Christian school in Spokane, Washington, since 2018. At Enlightium Preparatory Academy, teachers cultivate close partnerships with parents in order to provide an education that seamlessly integrates Christian values with academic excellence. Ms. Gluhova considers it a blessing to grow in faith alongside her students and to learn together through shared experiences in the classroom. Ms. Gluhova holds a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in Accounting and earned her Teaching Certification from Whitworth University. She is ACSI certified.

Mrs. Cain is incredibly blessed for the opportunity to teach at Enlightium Preparatory Academy. She is grateful to work at a school where she can help educate the whole child. At Enlightium Preparatory Academy, Mrs. Cain is grateful for the role to support children's academic, emotional, social, and, most importantly, spiritual growth. There is something truly beautiful about children learning about God and growing in their faith. Jesus values children and emphasizes their importance in the world. World Language & K4 Teacher

It is a true blessing for Mrs. Feofanova to teach at Enlightium Preparatory Academy. She holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Arkansas and has completed two advanced professional training programs in teaching Russian as a Foreign Language from Lomonosov Moscow State University and Pushkin State Russian Language Institute. Throughout her teaching career, she has served as an adjunct instructor at the University of Arkansas and has taught Russian and English as a second language privately for over ten years. Mrs. Feofanova’s play-based, hands-on approach has naturally led her to work primarily with children. She is ACSI certified.

World Language & Arts Teacher

After helping out as a volunteer parent since 2023, it’s a gift from God for Mr. Lopez to teach at Enlightium Preparatory Academy starting in 2025. Mr. Lopez has a Master’s in Business Administration from Gonzaga University, an Associate’s of Applied Science in photography from Spokane Falls Community College, a Master’s of Arts and a Bachelor’s of Arts from the University of Arkansas (both involving journalism, political science, and Spanish literature), and several certifications in digital marketing and web design. His Spanish classes use a project-based approach: Launch with an interactive lecture on grammar, explore through videos and songs to learn cultural immersion, create worksheets or hands-on grammar/vocabulary notes, and reflect with review and introspection. Mr. Lopez is ACSI certified.

Maker Space & Tech Teacher

For Mr. Tower, it is both an honor and a blessing to serve as a STEAM teacher at Enlightium Preparatory Academy. He holds a master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, as well as two Bachelor of Science degrees in Materials Science and Engineering and Chemistry from the University of California, Merced. His life experiences include disaster relief work through the Southern Baptist Convention, academic research, and engineering projects at the University of California, Merced. In his hands-on, project-based classes, Mr. Tower’s goal is not only to teach students the engineering process of planning, design, and iteration, but also to help them see how the care and precise design of our Creator are reflected in both their own creations and the world around them. Mr. Tower is ACSI certified.

Learning Center Specialist & Substitute

Enlightium Preparatory Academy is a safe, balanced, family-like environment for students. Each day, learning is centered in and grounded by God’s Word (Truth) across every subject. Teachers are motivated by the love of Christ to give their best to all students and are grateful to partner with parents in shaping eternal character in each individual’s life. With 35 years of teaching experience in various Christian schools, Mr. Hipple brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to his work. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Bachelor of Theology (PBC). Mr. Hipple is ACSI certified.

Home Economics & TA

Ms. Altukhov is deeply grateful to have joined Enlightium Preparatory Academy in 2025. As the Home Economics teacher, she is passionate about equipping students with practical, life-ready skills rooted in biblical stewardship and joyful service. Her journey includes teaching in children’s ministries and homeschool co-ops, providing one-on-one support for individuals with special needs, and earning an accredited Food Manager Certification. These diverse experiences come to life through engaging classroom projects where students practice kitchen safety, cooking, proper nutrition, budgeting, and heartfelt hospitality. Through this hands-on approach, Ms. Altukhov helps students grow in confidence, competence, and Christ-honoring character as they prepare to lead their future homes with excellence. She is honored to partner with Enlightium families in this meaningful and exciting journey.

Music Teacher

Mrs. Carlson joined Enlightium Preparatory Academy in 2025 as a music teacher, and this role has been a great blessing and gift from the Lord. She finds joy in watching students grow in their knowledge of Christ as they discover their musical gifts and a passion for worship. Mrs. Carlson believes that each student is uniquely gifted by God to sing and offer praise through music. She has taught music for 35 years, bringing a wealth of experience to her classroom. Mrs. Carlson is excited to continue growing as an educator and to apply her experience in service to the students of Enlightium Prep.

Athletic Coach & Math Teacher

Mr. Proszek is blessed to teach, coach, and help students develop essential 21st-century skills. He strives to lead with respect, humility, honesty, integrity, and excellence. Mr. Proszek holds a German secondary school diploma, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Eastern Washington University. He has ten years of coaching experience across soccer, basketball, cross country, swimming, tennis, triathlon, and age-appropriate fitness foundations. Mr. Proszek is ACSI certified.
